US Track and Field Championships 2022
On July 20, Lithuanian discus throwers Mykolas Alekna ir Andrius Gudžius won their first medals at the US Track and Field Championships in Oregon. Nineteen-year-old Alekna won the silver, and Gudžius, 31, took the bronze. Slovenian Kristjan Čeh, 23 landed the gold medal, beating the record set by Mykolas’ father Virgilijus in 2005 with his 71.13 metre throw. Mykolas threw the discus 69.27 m, Gudžius – 67.55. The two Lithuanians surpassed the last championsip’s gold medallist, Sweden’s Daniel Stahl.
