Lithuanian President Visits Poland

On July 21, president Gitanas Nausėda began an official visit to Poland, in the Suvalkai region, where many Lithuanians live in the towns of Punskas and Seinai, and have established community organizations. In meetings with local dignitaries and community members, the President discussed the importance of retaining Lithuanian cultural values and language, as well as continued ties with Lithuania.

President Nausėda also officially opened the 16th World Lithuanian Youth Congress in Punskas, where 98 youth representatives from 18 countries were able to convene for the Congress in person for the first time in several years (due to COVID) and celebrate the Association’s 50th anniversary.

Highlights of the President’s visit and the Youth Congress are presented in photos by presidential photographer R. Dačkus.
