Bringing in the Christmas season, the 21st International Christmas Charity Fair opened on December 2 at Vilnius City Hall. Proceeds went to social welfare organizations for children, women and seniors. Over the past 20 years, the Charity Fair has collected over 1.4 million euros for more than 100 organizations.

The Fair is organized by the International Women’s Association of Vilnius, headed by Svitlana Saltis, and honorary president, Lithuania’s First Lady, Diana Nausėdienė.

Every year over 40 embassies, international schools and organizations located in Lithuania present their country’s crafts, products and traditions.

A lottery is one of the Fair’s events, with a visit by Santa Claus coming from Lapland. The program included a show by the children’s “Little Theatre”, Japanese animation in the children’s zone, a special appearance by world breakdance champion Dominika Banevič (B-girl Nicka), and performances by various choirs, as well as several vocal and instrumental music stars.
