The Council for the Safeguarding of Ethnic Culture has published a guide to ethnocultural tourism in Lithuania. It lists homesteads that earned top scores and nominations in various competitions organized in 2019-2020 by the council, together with the Lithuanian Agritourism Association and the Ministry of Agriculture.
Many of the homesteads are examples of preserved or restored traditional country architecture. They offer accommodation in typical country houses with traditional decorations and features, orchards and plantings, as well as farm animals of Lithuanian stock. Many homestead owners are dedicated to maintaining the old architecture and traditional lifestyle, and offer lessons in traditional crafts, botanicals and cuisine as well as participation in ethnocultural festivals. The guide is available on the Council’s website: ekgt.lt.
