Festival welcomes more than 12 groups from 5 continents

“Pasaulis skamba“ (The World Resounds) is a festival that invites listeners to expand their musical horizons and savour world music from a multitude of countries. “GM Gyvai“ (Good Music Live) is organizing a colourful festival which continues from May to September, with over a dozen groups from five continents performing a wide variety of genre-bending music for every taste.

Thirty concerts are planned in Vilnius, Kaunas and on the Baltic coast, performed by both familiar and new groups, two from Lithuania and 12 from abroad – with some Canadian content as well. Included in the festival program are “Balaklava Blues“ (Ukraine / Canada);  “Constantinopole“ ensemble (Senegal / Iran / Canada); “Subhira“ (Chile); “Orkesta Mendoza“ (Mexico); “Tamikrest“ (Mali); “Kuunatic“ (Japan); “Opsa Deheli“ (France); “Ag Dan Gwang Chil“ (South Korea); “Samba Toure” (Mali); “Al-Qasar“ (Algiers / Moroco / France); Karolina Cicha and Co. (Poland); and “Dakha Brakha“ (Ukraine).

Music is ageless – and the festival is meant for listeners young and old to be stimulated or soothed by ethnic music, rock, blues, punk, rap and other genres in many combinations and variations. News about the festival is available on the website www.gmgyvai.lt
