The annual sporting event for the Lithuanian Athletic Union of North America – LAUNA (ŠALFASS in Lithuanian) will be held in Toronto in 2024. Toronto’s Aušra Sports Club will assist in hosting “ŠALFASS 2024” from Friday May 17th – Sunday May 19th.
The major event for North American athletes of Lithuanian descent includes a weekend of games followed by a social activity for both parents and youth. The location address, game schedule and accommodations are still to be announced, but it is not too early to give athletes and parents as much time as possible to prepare for this annual event.
Toronto Aušra’s goal is to have as many participants join us and help further the development of peer relationships, positive leadership qualities, and a healthy sporting experience.
Additional practices, showcase games, skills will become available on Sundays throughout 2024 starting February 4th, March 10th, April 14th, 28th, and May 12th. We can use this time for scrimmages, training, and skills development. Coaches will communicate with details.
We ask that parents and participants invite others to JOIN Aušra Sports Club and participate in this classic event at the end of the season. Regular season registration for basketball, table tennis, and volleyball is still open and no prior experience is necessary.
We are still looking for athletes in grades 3-12 in particular, but all are welcome. Please register on our website at www.ausra.net
