

After a 2-year break, the Toronto Gintaras Folk Dance Ensemble is back with their annual concert “Gintarines Jonines”. Join us on June 24th for a festival at the Anapilis Halls in Mississauga ON. In addition to the Toronto Gintaras Dance Ensemble performances, guest dance ensembles from Lithuania, Sweden, Argentina and the USA will be performing throughout the afternoon. The local Ukrainian dance school Barvinok will also be making an appearance. Gintaras’’ student dancers have performed at Barvinok’s concerts and we are pleased to have forged this friendship with them. Do you know what a “”skrabalas ”is? Come listen to renown musician and songwriter Regimantas Šilinskas who is coming from Lithuania especially for this event. The festivities will continue into the night with a dance party starting at 8 pm.
Between the performances, there will be time to explore the Artisan Fair where you will be able to purchase jewelry, amber art work, stained glass creations, linens, woodworking, and spit cakes. The Lithuanian Museum-Archives of Canada will have an exhibit where you can learn about the history of the Lithuanian community in Canada. And to sustain you, guests will be able to enjoy delicious Lithuanian food, fabulous desserts and cold refreshments that will be available for purchase. Please note that purchases will be cash only.
Advance tickets are available online at: togintaras.ticketspice.com/gintarines-jonines. Ticket prices are: $20 for adults; $10 for children (ages 5-16). At the door, tickets will be $25 for adults and $15 for children. If you choose to order tickets online, your statement will read “Arunas Pabedinskas”. Doors will open to the public at 2 pm. The Artisan’s Fair and Museum will be open from 2 pm until 8 pm. Food will available for purchase until 9 pm.
