Now – three “smart” apps to guide you

There are several applications available to help you enjoy your vacation in Lithuania, reports alkas.lt.

The first is DayTrip, an interactive electronic tour guide (also on the internet at daytrip.lt) that allows you to  select a date, city or area and the type of site you wish to visit – museum, nature, monuments and architecture, free or paid and mode of transportation. You will be offered bilingual (Lithuanian and English) information on various locations and itineraries, timelines, access and reviews, to be saved to your own personal page. The app includes descriptions, photos and audioguides. For anyone who finds it difficult to decide where to go, there is also a “Surprise Me” option. Available for android smart phones.

Audioguides to Lithuanian Resorts are available online (lietuvoskurortai.lt) or in the Lithuanian Resorts (Lietuvos kurortai) app from Google Play or the Apple App Store. The resort areas included are  Neringa, Druskininkai, Birštonas and Palanga. History, itineraries and places to visit are presented in six languages: Lithuanian, English, Russian, Polish, German and Latvian.

The third app is a very detailed and thorough guide to Lithuania’s capital, “Neakivaizdinis Vilnius”. A free app, it is also available online at neakivaizdinisvilnius.lt, but only in Lithuanian. It covers many areas of potential interest, and shows your itinerary on screen.
