Blue/Yellow is a non-governmental organization that has been supporting Ukraine‘s armed resistance since 2014. It provides Ukrainian soldiers and volunteers with non-lethal supplies to help them battle Russian aggression. Aid is provided to the soldiers, volunteers and territorial defense forces fighting for Ukraine’s freedom. The money raised is used to buy: helmets, optics, NVD, tactical medicine, vehicles, bulletproof vests, drones, and clothing.

Jonas Ohman

The founder and head of Blue/Yellow is Jonas Ohman, of Swedish origin, living in Lithuania. He is a filmmaker, translator, journalist and language teacher. At the beginning of the war in Ukraine he, together with partners and friends in Lithuania, set up NGO Blue/Yellow for support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and for helping the civilian population in Donbass area.

During five years of war the organization has provided support of over 600,000 EUR. At present Blue/Yellow is cooperating daily with partners, civilian and military, in Ukraine and elsewhere. Jonas has been awarded 10 times for his actions in Ukraine, by armed forces units, ministries and by the presidents of Ukraine and Lithuania. He is the only foreigner who has been awarded the medal for “The defence of Avdiivka”.

His efforts and the assistance sent to Ukraine by Lithuania are documented in the film by Dominykas Kubilius, “Kartu iki pergalės“, a powerful documentary on www.lrt.lt (see link below). It shows you more than you want to know, but is crucial for you to heighten your compassion and maintain your attention on the atrocity of Russia‘s war against Ukraine. Lithuania‘s contribution to Ukraine‘s defense have been massive, and understandably so, because Ukraine is its shield, as is said in the film. Viewers in Lithuania are encouraged to call the number 1482 to contribute 5 euros to the cause. Ohman says if everyone subscribed to donate once a month, imagine how much could be collected to help Ukraine!

The film is in Lithuanian, and, unfortunately, not yet subtitled in English. It is an essential supplement to the news we see on the media every day, because it provides the view from Lithuania.
