See Mamontovas this Summer

In July and August of this year, Andrius Mamontovas will be on tour in Lithuania. The summer begins with the legendary performer in Druskininkai, at Leipalingio Manor on July 6, when the audience will also be invited to sing the Anthem with him on the national holiday. On July 20, he will be at the Molėtai Summer Stage, and on the 27th at Pakruojis Manor. August will se bring him to the Ilzenbergas Manor in the Rokiškis district on the 3rd, at the Anykščiai Winery on the 9th, Dreverna Harbour near Klaipėda on the 10th, and the Birštonas Summer Stage on the 17th.

For his 47th birthday and to commemorate the eve of the 35th anniversary of the Baltic Way, Mamontovas will perform on Gediminas Hill in Vilnius, with a special light show. Here Mamontovas will continue his recent solo concert format, with no orchestra or backup singers, just him, his instruments and the audience. During the concert, audience members will be invited to submit written questions, which he will answer during the breaks between songs.

This summer his concerts will all be in the open air, romantic, and intimate. Asked about this exceptional opportunity to perform on Gediminas Hill, he said he still could not believe that he would ever be allowed to do it. The message he wants to send from the hill to Lithuania and the world is in his songs, he explained. His repertoire for the event will be appropriately bright and respectful. In order to protect the national heritage site, there will be a limited number of seats, and noise will be kept to a minimum. The audience will be listening through a netweork of wireless earphones.

The final concert of this “Alone. Summer” will take place on August 24 at the Kaunas Yacht Club. Information and tickets are available at bilietai.mamontovas.lt.
