Lithuanian silk designer Grete Svegzdaite was recognized at the New York Fashion Week in mid-September.

The Lithuanian “GRETES SHOP” brand was selected among 70 young designers from all over the world to show their collections in this year’s New York Fashion Week. G. Svegzdaite says that the invitation to display her collection came 6 months ago, right before the start of the pandemic.  She told media that she worked really hard to prepare for the event and was expecting to be able to travel there, but although her plans did not work out, however, the organizers included her in the preparations and the process online – G. Svegzdaite said.

New York Fashion Week, held in February and September of each year, is a semi-annual series of events (generally lasting 7–9 days) when international fashion collections are shown to buyers, the press, and the general public. It is one of four major fashion weeks in the world, collectively known as the “Big 4”, along with those in Paris, London, and Milan.
