

The Ministry of Education, Science and Sports has announced new funding for foreign students studying Lithuanian. They are invited to choose summer courses and part-time courses in Lithuanian language, culture and history.
In the summer of 2023, Lithuanian language and culture courses will be organized at six institutions of higher education and research (applications are accepted for one institution per applicant): Klaipėda University, the Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore, Mykolas Romeris University, SMK University of Applied Sciences, Vilnius University, Vytautas Magnus University.
Foreign students may also apply for short-term studies (1 or 2 semesters), for which 15 scholarships are available.

There are currently 239 Lithuanian language (community-based) schools in the diaspora, with approximately 8,600 students and 1,000 teachers. There are 40 centres for Baltic or Lithuanian studies in the world, with 1,100 students in attendance.
