  • The film “Kernagis” is the first documentary about maestro Vytautas Kernagis. This is a revelation of one of the most famous Lithuanian artists. The film is like a diary for his entire generation and a testimony to how irreplaceable he is. Director Andrius Lekavicius invites viewers to enter the world of maestro V. Kernagis, which is disclosed for the first time, opening the door to an unseen and intimate family archive.
  • “Everyone thought that they knew and understood Kernagis. But, he only revealed his true self to his family and a few very close friends. Maestro was convinced that the artist must always be somewhat mysterious. He remained an enigma until his death. The only opportunity to know and perceive him through his own eyes, is through this film, that once again we understand and believe how irreplaceable he was” – states the film’s director.
  • Maestro Vytauto Kernagio son, Vytautas, will present the film, share memories and untold stories. He will explain how the idea for the film was born, what were the most difficult aspects and what new discoveries they made about their father. He will also answer the audience’s questions.
