Virtual Museum Visits

Every Thursday at 2:30 (local time), visitors will be able to tune in live to see dolphin performances at the Lithuanian Sea Museum in Klaipėda. The first show streamed on the museum’s Facebook page (facebook.com/muziejus.lt) attracted some 1,300 online views.

Olda Žalienė, director of the museum, said that the quarantine hasn’t stopped the work of the museum or the delfinarium. The trainers go to work everyday and work with the animals and each session is the same performance by the dolphins, only without spectators. During the live streams, people will be able to see behind-the-scenes footage of life at the Sea Museum and also address questions to the staff. Currently, there are 16 dolphins at the museum who are cared for by 15 trainers and two veterinary doctors.
